Wooden Sign

I am currently taking part in the Cricut Family South Africa weekly challenges.

Every week a new challenge is set to make a project using your Cricut machine.

I bought myself a Cricut Joy, and made this project using it.

This week's challenge was to make something using your favorite book.

I have always wanted to make a wooden sign with inspirational quotes, for my classroom.  This week was the perfect oppertunity.

To start, I painted pallet wood strips in different colors.

I used various quotes from Disney movies and books.  Some of the quotes I cut from vinyl, others from cardstock, and lastly some were painted with stencils.

Lavendar Lane

When receiving a design team pack, I always feel like I need to make something different.

When the Celebr8 Lavendar Lane collection arrived, I just knew I wanted to make something for my family wall.  My photo's suited the paper perfectly and was great a inspiration.

Using 3 different size embroidery rings, I scrapbooked, three circle layouts.  I added a lot of layers to each frame.

I stencilled on the left with purple Nuvo Glimmer.

The chipboard titles I stamped with Versamagic Purple Hydrangea.  I then added stickles to some of the words.

Terrarium

I am currently taking part in the Cricut Family South Africa weekly challenges.

Every week a new challenge is set to make a project using your Cricut machine.

I currently don't own a Cricut machine so rely on my sister to cut everything for me.

This week's challenge was to make something for your bestie using green with a touch of black and add a plant.

My bestie is currently moving to a new office and wanted to make something for her to hang in the corner of her office.  When I saw this file on the design space I just knew it was perfect.

Everything was cut with the Cricut and then glued together.

Animal Silhouette Box

I am currently taking part in the Cricut Family South Africa weekly challenges.

Every week a new challenge is set to make a project using your Cricut machine.

I currently don't own a Cricut machine so rely on my sister to cut everything for me.

This week's challenge was to make something using an animal.

I decided to make a lightbox with an animal silhouette in the front.

The box was made out of black foam core.  I added in a sheet of glitter cardstock at the back, just to give it a bit more bling.
The elephant silhouette was cut from black and then double matted onto brown pearlescent card.

Inside the box is a row of tealight candles, but fairy lights would also work.

Toilet Doors

When we built on the classroom at Scrapbooking Namibia, the builders messed oil on the toilet doors.

Instead of buying new doors, I decided to revamp them a little.

Each door has been decorated differently.

I started with a layer of light pink and dark pink chalk paint.  I then added a few spots of Dala Crazy Cracks.  Once this was all dry I painted the light grey over.

Now that the base of each door was finished I started to decorate.  I tried to incorporate as many different techniques onto the doors to inspire the ladies attending the classes.

Stenciling with texture paste:

Stenciled with white gesso, and then poured alcohol ink over it.
Stamperia Rice Paper in the middle/ I also distressed the paint a little so that the pink would shine through/.
Stenciling and rice paper.  Embellished with a 3D flower
Stenciling with texture paste and then add alcohol ink to the bird.
Waterslide paper with some stenciling.

Embroidery ring with vinyl sign on cotton tape.
Decoupage with serviette.
I love how the doors turned out and it is definitely a talking point in every class.

Bee Canvas

I am currently taking part in the Cricut Family South Africa weekly challenges.

Every week a new challenge is set to make a project using your Cricut machine.

I currently don't own a Cricut machine so rely on my sister to cut everything for me.

This week's challenge was to make something using a bee.

I took 3 plain white hexagon canvasses and painted them black.

I then designed my 3 bee sayings on my Cricut design space.  My sister then cut these for me from HTV vinyl.

I added pearls and flowers to finish off the design.

Oh Baby Project Life

Being a scrapbook shop all day, I often get asked what is project life.

So when I received the Oh Baby collection from Celebr8, I just knew I would make a project life album.

All the plane pieces of cardstock are photo mats  I would have loved to add photo's, but don't currently have any baby photos.

The front cover page and was a full single scrapbook page.  I have left space open at the top to add the babies name/

Page 2 and 3
Page 2 I used the back of the front cover page to my another single layout.
Page 4 and 5
Page 6 and 7
Page 8 and 9
Page 10 and 11
Page 11 was again a full single scrapbook layout.
Page 12 and 13
Page 12 was a full single scrapbook page, using the back of page 11.
Page 14 and 15
Page 16 and 17
Page 18 and 19
Page 20 and 21
Page 22 and 23

Page 24 and 25
Page 25 was a full single scrapbook page.

This was the last page in my album. and I made it a year in review page.
This page was done on the back of page 25 and is a full single scrapbook page.
If you have the project life sleeves, it is very easy to create an album.

Captured in Time Star Album

I tried something different with the new Celebr8 Captured in Time collection.

I made a star dimensional mini album...which can close and can then be paged as a mini album or stand open as a display item.

Each page of the mini album is also a pocket and can take some more photos.

It was not easy to photograph!

The Celebr8 Captured in Time collection worked beautifully with my photos. All I added was some brown kraft cardstock.
